Senior Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician
Job Description & Requirements
Senior M&E Technician receives instructions from the Duty Engineer and performs daily Preventive Maintenance to plants and equipments. Performs repair work to mechanical and electrical appliances/equipments and changes blown bulbs as and when noticed. To supervise the work of the technician in their respective shifts. Performs stand-by duties in the control room and responds to calls promptly. Responsible for an engineering activities in the midnight shift where no other senior engineering staff is on duty.
Duties and Supporting Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of:
- HVAC System
- Electrical installations
- Central refrigeration and condensing units
- Plumbing System
- Fire Protection System
- Kitchen equipment and all other M&E related equipment
- In the absence of Duty Engineer, he/she is responsible for the assignment of job/task to shift technician and ensures that such completed work conforms with the standard so established by the Hotel.
- Collects approved work order sheet from Duty Engineer and ensures that the work/task as described in the work order is carried out expeditiously, accurately, skillfully and economically.
- On completion of the work/task, he/she completes the work order form by providing information regarding date/time, material used etc. as provided in the form.
- Records all plants/equipment and utilities logging accurately.
- Ensures that all plants/equipment are operated properly in accordance to the manufacturer’s specifications and as economically as possible.
- Receives instructions from the Duty Engineer on job priorities and attends to guest on engineering complaints as so directed by the Duty Engineer.
- Maintains and cleans the work area at all times.
- Conducts and performs Planned Preventive Maintenance in accordance to pre-established PPM schedule.
- Conducts regular testing of emergency stand-by generator in accordance to establish schedule.
- Report to the Duty Engineer of stock situation in the reserve stock cabinet.
- Notify the Duty Engineer of any irregularities to plant and equipment or abuse of engineering equipment by other Hotel staff
- Whilst on night shift/evening shift, he/she inspects all public areas and reports/replace burnt out light bulbs.
- Any other tasks/duties as assigned by the Duty Engineer or Supervisor.
