General
The primary role of the Mechanical Inspector will be to ensure the mechanical systems and equipment are installed correctly. You will be responsible for inspection, witness of testing, and evaluating mechanical components and systems to ensure compliance with local standards, contract specifications, and all safety requirements.
Key Duties
The Mechanical Inspector shall be capable of performing the following duties on his own:
Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping etc
Review installation to ensure compliance with construction drawings
Ensure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerations
Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installed
Active role in technical discussions with contractors and equipment suppliers
Witness the commissioning of rotating and non-rotating equipment
Proper record keeping of all inspection/witness activities carried out
Perform inspection for defects clearing.
Ensure defects are cleared before signing off
Carry out other inspection/witness activities as assigned.
