Job Description:
The incumbent will oversee and coordinate all shipping operations and related documentation for the company. This role involves leading the shipping team to ensure that all shipping activities and paperwork are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all shipping activities, including export/import shipments, documentation, string, paper sales, contract management, demurrage, insurance, and vessel operations.
- Collaborate with departments such as trading, risk, treasury, and factory operations to ensure seamless coordination.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance shipping processes and minimize costs.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the shipping team.
- Maintain accurate and current records of all shipping activities.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related issues or complaints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in commodity shipping operations and documentation.
- Deep knowledge of vessel chartering, cargo loading and unloading, and shipping documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
