ROLE OVERVIEW:
In the role of Associate/ Senior Associate, Valuation Control, the employee will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare, review and send EOD PnL reports for portfolio managers and firm management
- Provide daily commentary on material PnL swings between Flash and Official reports for the firm management and portfolio managers
- Assist in the daily overview of valuation and PnL for the firm ensuring accuracy across multiple asset types
- Understand components of daily PnL with ability to pinpoint, address and investigate cause of discrepancies
- Clear ownership and responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of EOD PnL
- Liaise with front office, risk management, quantitative and development teams about matters surrounding pricing, valuation and modelling
- Work with technology to develop and implement new reporting tools and improve reporting transparency
- Contribute on short- and long-term special projects to enhance the PnL reporting process
- Coordinate with fund administrator for month-end NAV close
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
In order to effectively represent the Company and communicate with clients, the employee must be someone who has:
- 5-7+ years of experience with PnL reporting and PnL systems with at least 2 years in hedge funds or banks
- Good understanding of the PnL production and reporting process and methodology
- Broad understanding across various classes of financial products, with a particular focus on Macro (Rates, Currency, Derivatives, Commodities)
- Geneva and/or Arcesium experience is preferred
- Experience with Bloomberg is a plus
- Strong personal ownership and ability to resolve issues independently
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
