Application Manager

As an Application Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our products. You'll be at the heart of product planning and execution, steering the direction of the project by prioritizing requirements and ensuring top-notch quality. You'll also define release strategies and collaborate with diverse teams, provide technical know-how for deployment of solutions bringing everyone together to deliver a product that truly stands out. It's a dynamic role that puts you in the driver's seat of a product's journey, from conception to completion.


Roles & Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Act as a product lead, guiding project teams to ensure alignment with product goals.
  • Collaborate with business functions to clarify requirements, set project scope, and lead it to delivery.
  • Define and implement testing strategies and plans to validate product functionality and quality.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and technical teams during the implementation of solutions.
  • Coordinate project activities across different locations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between remote team members.
  • Work directly with external and internal IT resources for successful project execution.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of data and systems requirements, aligned with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with the internal security team to ensure IT security compliance, especially during new platform or software implementation.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with the direction set by EGAP (Enterprise Global Architecture and Platforms) for consistency with the broader organizational strategy.
  • Final point of escalation, focal point, and subject matter expert on the application and processes governing it.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on product strategy, relevance, and quality.
  • Focus on building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective collaboration and alignment throughout the project.
  • Provide regular reports of progress towards meeting project deliverables.
  • Building Knowledge
  • Provide valuable insights on new technologies, processes, and methodologies, staying updated with industry trends and recommending their integration into projects.
  • Act as technical/product expert to project team members and support cross-functional training

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or have similar experience/education.
  • Preferred professional certification in Project Management (Prince2 or PMI) and IT Service Management Technique (e.g. ITIL).
  • 8 years of diverse IT experience, including requirements, design architecture, development, testing, and deployment support for complex IT products in a multinational enterprise and/or logistics or transportation sector.
  • Recent hands-on experience with collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) and knowledge of integration patterns, data types, and messaging systems (MQ).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and their potential impact on business solutions, with experience in Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
  • Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 is a plus, along with global experience, and the ability to collaborate and work across different time zones.
  • Strong business process skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate information, communicate complex requirements concisely, and understand cybersecurity concepts in product management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying design principles with attention to detail, and understanding business requirements and implications for decision-making.
  • Capable of collaborative work with cross-functional, cross-geographical teams to analyze business requirements, adaptable to changes in the business landscape, technology advancements, and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to work on multiple products and teams concurrently, effectively managing and prioritizing tasks while demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, ready to present to a business audience.
