- PLC Programming and Development:
- Design, develop, and implement PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, or other programming languages.
- Configure PLC hardware, including selection of PLC models, I/O modules, and communication protocols.
- Integrate PLC systems with HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other control devices.
- System Integration and Testing:
- Conduct system integration tests to verify functionality and performance of PLC-based control systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug PLC programs, electrical wiring, and communication issues.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and automation technicians to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
- Commissioning and Startup:
- Participate in onsite commissioning and startup activities for PLC-controlled equipment and systems.
- Perform functional testing, system optimization, and fine-tuning of control algorithms.
- Provide technical support during the initial production phase and customer acceptance testing.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as PLC program manuals, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
- Generate commissioning reports, test procedures, and project documentation.
- Update as-built drawings and documentation to reflect changes and modifications.
- Project Management and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, schedule, and deliverables related to PLC programming.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Above 3 years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or SEW servo) and familiarity with programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
- Hands-on experience with PLC hardware and associated peripherals (I/O modules, communication protocols).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and control systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, HMIs, and industrial networking protocols (Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic work environment.
