Job Title: Waiter/Waitress
Job Summary:
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests in a fast-paced Japanese restaurant environment
- Take orders, serve food and beverages, and handle payments with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to make recommendations and answer questions
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service environment (Japanese restaurant experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and multitask with ease
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture (or willingness to learn)
- Familiarity with sake, wine, and other beverages (or willingness to learn)
- Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and credit transactions
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- F&B Certficate, Nitec or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with point-of-sale systems and restaurant software
- Certification in food safety and handling (e.g. Food Safety Certification)
- English language skills required
- Japanese language skills (conversational or better would be a plus)
- Knowledge of Japanese customs and etiquette (or willingness to learn)
