We are looking for a passionate, hardworking, and meticulous Junior Florist to join our team at our retail shop front. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their floral needs and preparing flower arrangements, and running the operation of the retail shop. Your commitment to excellent customer service and attention to detail will be key to ensuring the quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist with their floral selections. Offer knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs and preferences while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Sales: Actively promote and sell a variety of flowers, plants, and related products. Upsell and cross-sell items to achieve sales targets and enhance the customer experience.
- Floral Arrangements: Design and create custom flower arrangements for various occasions, including birthdays, weddings, and corporate events. Ensure each arrangement meets our standards for beauty and quality.
- Product Maintenance: Monitor the freshness and quality of flowers and plants by adhering to proper handling and storage procedures. Regularly water and care for plants to maintain their health.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop front clean, organized, and visually appealing. Restock shelves and displays as necessary, and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Customer Orders: Process special orders and requests efficiently, including preparing and delivering arrangements when needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth shop operations and provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and manage cash and credit card payments with precision.
Qualifications:
- Self starter with positive and willing to learn attitude
- Experience: Prior experience in floral design or retail is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Skills: Good interpersonal skills. Able to communicate in English. Basic computing knowledge is preferred. Basic math skills are necessary for handling transactions and managing inventory.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move flower arrangements, and handle various floral products with care.
- Availability: Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
