As an Economic Research Analyst within the Economic Research team based in Singapore, you will be working on analyzing data, building models and writing research reports as well as responding to internal and external client requests. You will be able to gain valuable experience in partnering closely with various internal parties and provide up to date, industry leading research. Research is the foundation for everything we do for our clients. From real time analysis of data prints, to longer-term thematic pieces that explain the economic developments in depth, our mission is to constantly offer new and original ways for investors to build value.
Job responsibilities
• Work on data and models covering various aspects of regional economies; analyze a wide range of economic and financial topics; evaluate economic development, their macro policy implications; and make independent forecast of macroeconomic variables and policies
• Support and conduct empirical analysis on a specific thematic topics that cut across economies using economic analysis and quantitative methods to write research reports in our regular and ad hoc publications
• Interact with clients; and support the day-to-day client requests and needs
• Coordinate and communicate with colleagues with high degree of communication skills
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Master’s degree in Economics or related disciplines
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical skills in macroeconomics and econometrics, knowledge about financial market and investment to handle several responsibilities and work under tight time constraints
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and EViews, and willing to learn other statistics software
• Familiar with various database such as CEIC, Haver, Bloomberg, etc.,
• Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
• The ability to build and maintain successful relationships with colleagues across the firm
