Deputy / Technical Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Achieve high standards of safe and pollution-free operations of vessels by ensuring that company policies related to Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality Assurance (HSEQA) are effectively implemented
2. You will be responsible for overall Management of assigned vessels. This will include close communication with all stakeholders, compliance to owners and charterers requirements, close monitoring of Marine and Technical Operations, Daily maintenance and repairs, Budgeting and control, Surveys, certification, Inspections and Docking.
3. Keep abreast of international regulations / legal requirements and ensure assigned vessels comply to these.
4. Provide Technical assistance and advice to ships.
5. Carry out periodical technical and operational compliance audit and ensure vessel is always operational ready.
6. Assist in investigations of all insurance related matter.
7. Liaise closely with Procurement team for sourcing technical and operational supplies required at most economical and competitive rates.
8. Propose annual operating budget for assigned vessels by taking view of forthcoming repairs maintenance, statutory,
9. Flag and Port Requirements and maintain vessels within budgets.
10. Closely monitor and review vessel's conditions to ensure that she complies with Port State Control and Oil Majors regulations at all times
11. Effectively and efficiently carry out routine vessel inspections, dry-docking and major repairs
12. Plan and implement corrective actions for defects that may exist in the vessels and ensure compliance with planned maintenance schedule for assigned vessel
13. Monitor and ensure that all applicable vessel certifications are valid, and surveys / renewals are planned well in time
14. Ensure fleet vessels performance is within charter party requirements and Company goals.
15. Undertake technical related assignments and projects as and when required
16. This position required frequent travel overseas and estimated up to 120 days or more travel to attend vessels in various ports worldwide.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Educational Qualification should be at least a Graduate Engineer or equivalent.
2. Must have independently managed LNG and LPG carrier’s New building as Project Manager for at least five years and have at least ten years of Yard experience.
3. Your hands-on experience in both the construction and maintenance of Cargo Tanks (Membrane and Mossberg type) and propulsion systems (steam and WinGD) is a testament to your competence and skill in this field.
4. Proficient in PMS, ISM, PSC, Flag & Class requirements.
5. We value continuity and stability and, therefore, prefer candidates who have remained with the same company for the last five years. Experience in a Japanese Shipyard for a New Building would be preferred.
6. Previous working experience of at least two years handling Foreign Going vessels as Technical Superintendent.
