As an Material Manager you are tasked to make an optimal site Master Production Schedule (MPS) over 24 months horizon and the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure capacity and resources are in place to produce the MPS volume to satisfy customer requirements and maintain agreed levels of inventory in push markets. This role is responsible to ensure availability in terms of required date and quantity as measured by the global Stock Availability Report (SAR) KPI at Tuas. In this role, a typical day will include:
Responsibilities
Review market demand forecast, engage and clarify with market S&OP to ensure accurate demand is used to establish optimal MPS over 24 months horizon based on:
- Approved production plan derived from the site S&OP process and in line with site objectives
- Approved rough cut capacity planning (RCCP) in ECC as aligned with Engineering (owner) and Production (stakeholder).
- Achieving target inventory levels of whitestock / finished inventories at site and at market and minimizing obsolescence.
- Optimal resource planning in production direct labour and shift pattern in alignment with stakeholders.
- Optimal local planning processes such as lead times, product segmentation, and production frequencies to increase the efficiency of the production unit.
- Collaborate with Life Cycle Management (Global/Local) to manage and schedule product launches and artwork changes.
- Approves Production Schedule (PS) to optimally run campaigns and plan for format / lot changes as required.
- Responsible for end to end from market demand forecast review to outbound shipment to market or distribution centers.
- Trained and qualified to raise and complete required change requests, DCTs, NCIs and CAPAs.
- Responsible to maintain licenses and permits to export finished goods into markets, supporting country requirements for import documentation and declaration.
- Kick off annual budget process with a 12-month production volume plan, operating assumptions, projects and actions which is aligned to the site strategic plan developed and approved to achieve site Total Production Cost (TPC) per unit PC target.
- Lead team of demand planner(s) and demand fulfilment specialist(s), drive performance objectives and development plans.
Continuous Improvement:
- Leads action plans to achieve supply performance targets and drive for continuous improvement annually and mid-term
- Collaboration across teams to implement new or improve current processes
- Leads department and site KPI reporting, analysis and actions.
- Lead formulation and coordinates action plans to remediate capacity and resources constraints.
- Ensures IBP, NRC, RCCP, ECC, MRP functions overall effectively to drive credible planning and allow reliable and stable execution in supply chain planning, warehouse, manufacturing and others.
- Maintains oversight on planning parameters in ERP system
- Owns planning parameters in ERP systems like MOQ, campaign size, product segmentation
What You'll Bring to Alcon
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Related Study
- Experience in Drug (Pharma) Product finished goods manufacturing demand planning, production planning, lead time optimization, inventory optimization and demand fulfilment. Manage a team of around 5.
- SAP Expert in production, supply chain, inventory, demand fulfilment.
