Research Assistant (Psychology/Cognitive Neuroscience)

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (CRADLE@NTU) seeks applicants with a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from a university of good standing for a Research Assistant Position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and work closely with stakeholders from external institutions (including schools) and project collaborators.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare research progress reports.
  • Day to day coordination of funded projects.
  • Preparation of ethics documents to Institutional Review Board.
  • Participant recruitment.
  • Data collection using psychological and neuroimaging techniques, such as cognitive testing, fNIRS and MRI.
  • Perform research-related administrative work, such as purchase of material/equipment for research.
  • Manage day to day operations and meticulous record keeping of the research project.
  • Systems administration, including maintenance of network servers and data security.
  • Carry any other duties as required by Principal Investigator.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from a university of good standing.
  • Experience with cognitive/neuropsychological assessment with children and neuroimaging techniques such as fNIRS and/or fMRI is preferred.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills with a good command of the English language to perform literature reviews, prepare research progress reports and create visual infographics for presentations.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Good project coordination and administration skills, including data management and storage.
  • Willing to travel to school sites for data collection.
  • Willing to work on weekends (with off-in-lieu) when needed
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines.
  • Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed.
