Position Overview:
The Commodity Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of commodity strategies, ensuring alignment with the global team. This role involves early engagement with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, collaboration with the company technology center and worldwide sites to understand the commodity roadmap, and closing gaps with suppliers through constant alignment. The successful candidate will provide guidance on supplier investment in machinery, including machine types, Industry 4.0 readiness, and 3D printing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commodity Strategy Development:
- Take ownership of commodity strategies and ensure alignment with the global team.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives.
2. Early Engagement with NPI Team:
- Engage with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team at the earliest stages to align commodity strategies with new product developments.
3. Collaboration and Alignment:
- Work closely with the company technology center and global sites to understand the commodity roadmap.
- Close gaps with suppliers through ongoing alignment and communication.
4. Supplier Investment Direction:
- Provide direction for supplier investments in machinery, focusing on machine types, Industry 4.0 readiness, and 3D printing capabilities.
- Ensure suppliers are equipped to meet future technological and production needs.
5. Technical Expertise:
- Utilize strong technical knowledge in CNC machining to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Address technical challenges and opportunities related to CNC machining within the commodity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in commodity management or a related role, with a focus on CNC machining.
- Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes and technologies.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 concepts and 3D printing in a manufacturing context.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams and suppliers.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies that drive organizational success.
Basic Salary: SGD9,000 – SGD13,000 per month
