Job Summary:
The Java L2 Support Engineer will provide second-level support for a local government application systems developed in Java. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of applications, and collaborating with other support levels and development teams to maintain high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
- Provide timely resolution of incidents and service requests related to Java-based government application systems.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Analyze recurring incidents to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
- Document known issues and workarounds to aid in quicker resolution of future incidents.
- Monitor application performance and system health, using monitoring tools and logs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching and updates, to ensure application stability and security.
- Share knowledge and best practices within the support team to foster a collaborative learning environment.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience
- Proven experience in a technical support role, specifically with Java-based applications.
- Strong knowledge of Java Development Kit (JDK) 8.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., Oracle 19C) and SQL.
- Experience with application servers like Redhat JBOSS EAP V7.2.9, Weblogic 12, and IIS Proxy Server.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Java) are a plus.

“Support Hours” means hours from 7.30am to 7pm from Mondays to Fridays, with Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays excepted (following Singapore’s calendar)
