Key Appointments
- Key member of Singlife Financial Advisers (SFA)’s Finance team and responsible for the overall integrity of SFA’s financial accounts.
- Assist VP in the preparation of audited financial statements and reports to regulators.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Management accounting & reporting
- Responsible for month-end closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of completion and submission
- Own end to end entity financial control responsibilities, including intercompany reporting & reconciliation
- Analytical review of performance against budget and forecast, with associated business driven commentaries
- Key liaison with Operations for commission-related matters for entity
- Manage the Account receivable & receipting aspects for the entity
- Monitoring of expenditures, revenues and sales figure
- Preparation of monthly financial & management accounts
- Group reporting for monthly, half yearly and annual results
- Tax reporting to relevant tax authorities (GST & Income tax returns)
- Annual Regulatory reporting to MAS
Control/Risk management
- Contribute to effective internal control functioning for the finance function
- Review all month-end B/S supporting schedules and escalate any breaks in a timely manner
- Regular review and monitor to ensure sufficient operating cash flows for respective entity
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal policies, guidelines and laws and regulations relating to the above functional activities.
Change management/Process improvement
- Contribute to overall process improvements and automation initiatives for the entity.
- Be a change agent and support various ongoing and new change & transformational initiative(s)
Others
- Support line manager with ad hoc matters
- Promote a positive team engagement and net promoter score
- Coach and guide other fellow team members in their day to day work and problem solving
Requirements
Experience
- At least 6 years of relevant Finance experience
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Experience with financial planning and analysis
- Detailed focus, highly analytical orientation. Self-driven and proactive
- Experience in process improvements, standardization and automation
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong business acumen
Education
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and/or Finance
- Preferably with Chartered Accountant (CA/CPA) Certification(s)
