We’re seeking an experienced P&I-focused individual with experience in Asia to join a leading global marine insurance broker. This role will see you supporting Gallagher offices, partners and clients in the region with the objective of achieving optimum account retention by working in clients’ best interests in line with the Gallagher Way whilst driving revenue growth in P&I.
This niche role will also offer an international environment, hands-on responsibilities, and an opportunity for personal and professional growth. As a senior member of our broking team, you’ll be integral to Gallagher’s growth ambitions within the region, optimising client and market relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Generate revenue through sales with emphasis on large risks or high-profile clients.
· Work with local Gallagher offices in Asia to develop opportunities in P&I and, where possible, identify cross-selling opportunities across other marine and non-marine lines
· Design and agree client and revenue development plans, including product and territorial development strategies where required.
· Deliver on client priorities and manage their satisfaction utilising industry technologies.
· Manage new business goals, sales situations and account service. Align clients with our internal procedures and work with our technical team to prevent errors and omissions.
· Meet divisional targets and ensure colleagues are aware of generated revenue and account profitability.
· Assist, educate and develop other team members in new client sales situations. Developing effective relationships within the division and wider organisation.
· The role will include travel to the UK to engage with the wider P&I team as well as regional travel
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
· A robust knowledge of P&I insurance with at least 5 years’ experience preferably at a P&I Club and ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating in the Asian P&I marketplace
· Good time-management skills as you’ll be working between different time zones particularly between UK and Singapore
· Experience in leading colleagues and clients through difficulties, overcoming challenges whilst meeting business objectives and deliverables.
· Confident in using Management Information and Company Tools to improve how we work with clients and implement efficiencies where possible.
· Able to work within a high-performing team with significant senior level experience in managing and developing resources.
· High level regulatory awareness, excellent interpersonal skills, powerful presentation skills, strategic mind-set and the ability to develop solutions to complex problems.
· Can prioritise effectively when balancing conflicting demands, and ambiguity.
· To always act with the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
· Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Power point
