ROLE DESCRIPTION
Alphadyne is looking to expand its Product Control team and is seeking a highly motivated Product Controller to join its Singapore office. This individual, along with the other members of the Product Control team in the New York office, will be tasked with increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing tools, enhancing the overall control environment and implementing and institutionalizing new tools to strengthen controls and reporting surrounding P&L and valuations.
Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to, the following:
P&L:
- Reconcile EOD flash P&L to trade management / ledger system (Fund Studio) on T+1 by fund and by strategy on a daily basis;
- Reconcile Fund P&L daily on a T+1 basis to fund administrator’s books and records;
- Investigate and resolve P&L breaks on an on-going basis by working closely with the Investment Operations, Treasury and Finance teams and ensuring Fund Studio is updated properly;
- Provide explanations on the P&L differences highlighted;
- Highlight root cause issues (e.g., valuation, cash flow calculations, accruals, etc.) based on P&L reviews and propose fixes in Fund Studio as appropriate;
- Review and distribute P&L reporting internally; and
- Monitor P&L drift across funds.
Valuation Control:
- Review reconciliation of MV daily between internal systems and Fund Studio on a T+1 basis;
- Review reconciliation of MV daily between Fund Studio and fund administrator’s books and records on a T+1 basis;
- Perform verification checks of market data used as inputs to arrive at fair value, such as FX curves, IR curves, fixing rates, etc., across all products;
- Perform price/fair value verification of all investment positions to fund administrator and counterparty valuations provided in the fund administrator’s 3-way reconciliation; and
- Work closely with fund administrator, Investment Operations and Finance teams to finalize the month end NAV.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or its equivalent;
- 5-8 years of experience in the product control space in the alternative investment management industry (fixed income or derivatives experience is preferred);
- Strong technical competencies, including proficiency in Excel, are required; knowledge of SQL and Python is a plus;
- Must be a dedicated and highly motivated self-starter;
- Must be able to be resourceful and work independently with minimal direct oversight and be able to work collaboratively within a team;
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technologists on development.
