Job Summary:
The Event & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing marketing strategies and campaigns to promote our Chinese/Teochew Opera and Music Troupe.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the President, CEO, Deputy CEO, and Business Development Manager to ensure all marketing and event-related matters align with the company’s vision and goals.
- Collaborate with the graphic designer, artistic director, instructors, and performers for marketing content and brand development.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to share new design perspectives and ideas.
Marketing Strategy and Execution:
- Develop, strategies, and execute marketing campaigns and activities to raise public awareness and achieve targets.
- Conceptualise, plan, and implement marketing and promotional activities for the company and artists.
- Maintain regular dialogue with the media and identify opportunities for publicity.
- Compile monthly digital/marketing reports and review the performance of all marketing campaigns.
- Monitor and manage communications on the company’s social media accounts (comments, DMs, tags, etc.).
Content and Brand Development:
- Develop, curate, and update content on the company’s digital platforms (social media and websites) and press materials (press releases and factsheets).
- Create digital content (visual and copy) and postings to promote the company’s performances, events, and general branding.
- Ensure all digital content aligns with the company’s brand and marketing objectives.
- Prepare monthly newsletters.
Event Organisation:
- Assist in organising work activities and events, ensuring all event details are managed effectively.
- Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
Meetings and Reporting:
- Attend management, staff, and monthly committee meetings.
- Provide regular updates on marketing activities and event progress.
Other Duties:
- Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing, preferably within the cultural or performing art sector.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for Chinese opera and cultural preservation is highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, requiring occasional evening and weekend work for events and performances.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- 5.5 days’ work week.
