Key Responsibilities
Process Development and Optimization:
- Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with design and engineering team to address manufacturability and assembly challenges.
- Engage with operation in planning capacity, equipment and layout planning for ramp and mass production.
- Support NPI project/ APQP/ new part number into production, ensuring smooth transition and ramp up within the schedule.
- Support and oversee the product testing, equipment configuration to meet product requirement.
- Recommend and implement upgrades and new equipment as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality control standards for machining and assembly processes.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective action for quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices and process improvements.
Project Management:
- Manage projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation for all manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards.
- Prepare and present reports on manufacturing performance, project status, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless information flow and operational alignment.
Work Environment:
The position is based in a machining shop with exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as per safety guidelines.
Qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment,
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standard
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing process improvements.
- Experience of machining processes, tooling management, electrical testing, equipment setup as relevant.
- Special processes such as heat treating, surface finishing, or welding will be a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and familiarity with ERP systems will be added advantage.
