Responsibilities:
Accounting Function:
- Handle Accounts Payable functions, including invoice and payment postings.
- Ensure proper execution of the 3-way matching process and provide guidance to business units for related queries.
- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries and supporting reconciliations; address day-to-day issues.
- Perform monthly checks on divisional sales, purchases, and inventory; upload relevant transactions to the accounting system and reconcile between the business and accounting systems.
- Collaborate with Accounts Executives and key personnel in Business Units to ensure accurate and timely month-end closing for the Malaysia Branch.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements using SAP FICO to stakeholders for Malaysia PE-related reports.
- Prepare internal management reports and group financial reports with supporting analyses for management review; handle management queries.
- Facilitate cooperation between head office finance and accounting departments and Malaysia Branch accounting.
- Prepare timely sub-reports, schedules, and supporting documents to complete HQ reporting packages and monthly balance sheet schedules for audit purposes.
- Oversee daily operations and activities of the accounting team, including banking matters, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements.
- Preferred experience in handling Malaysia accounting and corporate income tax.
- Undertake any ad-hoc assignments and projects as required.
Auditing and Internal Control Function:
- Assist in establishing and streamlining accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage external and internal audit exercises and queries; prepare audit schedules, including year-end intercompany confirmation master files and other supporting documents.
- Liaise with auditors and prepare audited financial statements.
Taxation Function:
- Maintain a tax schedule for Malaysia corporate tax filing purposes.
- Liaise with tax agents on corporate tax queries and provide tax schedules.
- Monitor new announcements related to Malaysia SST, WHT, and corporate income tax; handle WHT tax applications as necessary.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or ACCA (preferred).
- minimum 3 years hands on in similar job scope
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and SAP
