YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To lead and be responsible for the strategy, personnel and all related activities of the Howden Asia Pacific Power Industry and Renewables Team, to deliver sustainable and progressive revenue growth to meet or exceed internal Howden business targets. The core responsibilities and activities include the following tasks.
· To manage a multi-functional team which comprises power industry insurance placement specialist, power technical specialist, risk and analytics engineers, client serving professionals, insurance claims specialist, and associated support staff
· To work with and collaborate with local Howden Offices, Third Party Producers and directly with power industry companies to establish, develop and execute new business opportunities
· To monitor and report on the Power Industry Team Budget and Eanings Status and all other Key Performance Indicators
· To collaborate with other Howden Geographical Regions and Howden Global Specialist including Renewables, Power Construction, Claims, Natural Catastrophe Modelling, and others to bring the ‘best of Howden’ to our clients and potential opportunities
· To ensure that all Asia Pacific power and renewable clients receive acceptable and appropriate standards of service from the Howden team, and that any deficiencies are promptly remedied
· To ensure that all activities are conducted in full compliance with Howden Procedures and Compliance requirements.
· Assist in the Preparation and Review of Technical Documentation including Insurance Survey Reports, Client Operations and Maintenance Audits and all other Technical Reports provided to clients.
· Assist in the Strategic oversight and Preparation of Howden Proposals in response to formal ‘Request for Proposal’ documentation received from potential power clients
· Provide technical advocacy on all matters as required by the client, including active participation in power claims discussions with loss adjusters to support the preparation of Client Claims Submission following loss incidents.
- Promote good team spirit and co-operation within the Specialty Group and Howden offices overseas. Provide opportunities for staff development and succession planning, providing direct mentoring and targeted training to develop the overall strength and capability of the Power Industry team
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
· Good team player and able to work independently to tight deadlines.
· Meticulous with good attention to details
· Resilient and able to manage conflicting demands from clients and other Stakeholders.
· Have direct working experience within the Power Industry with a minimum of 20 years’ experience working at large power generating facilities.
· Have a minimum of 8 years working experience servicing large power clients and more specifically providing direct support on insurance related plant technical issues and power claims and/or incidents
· A degree holder preferably within an Engineering discipline
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
