Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator with over 8 + years of experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL Server Database Administration Support Services, with a proven track record in installing, configuring, administering, and securing production servers.
Banking experience is a must.
The role requires the ability to work 24/7 shifts on a rotational basis, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts, as well as support on weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer SQL Server databases.
- Secure production servers and ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server issues in a production environment.
- Handle the entire production server lifecycle, understanding and meeting client requirements.
- Perform patching on standalone and cluster environments.
- Configure database backups including full, differential, and transaction log backups by scheduling jobs on a weekly and daily basis.
- Conduct maintenance activities using DBCC commands to maintain optimum performance.
- Implement and manage high availability options such as Log Shipping, Mirroring (High Availability mode), Replication, AlwaysOn, and Clustering.
- Perform performance monitoring, backups, restores, SQL Server auditing, and security.
- Develop and maintain SSIS packages and SSRS reports.
- Understand and implement security best practices.
- Support storage migration from the SQL Server side.
- Provide 24/7 support on a rotational shift basis, including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 + years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration Support Services.
- Strong expertise in installing, configuring, and securing production servers.
- Proficient in troubleshooting SQL Server issues in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with patching in standalone and cluster environments.
- Skilled in configuring and managing database backups and maintenance activities.
- Experience with high availability solutions such as Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, AlwaysOn, and Clustering.
- Proficient in performance monitoring, backup and restore operations, SQL Server auditing and security, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with a strong commitment to quality and client service.
- Experience supporting storage migration from the SQL Server side is a plus.
- Banking experience is required.
- Ability to work 24/7 rotational shifts, including support on weekends and public holidays.
