My client is a reputable name in the Trust space, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal and Risk to provide comprehensive legal support and risk management expertise. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the company’s legal, regulatory, and risk compliance, safeguarding their interests, and contributing to their strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Provide legal support to various business units and departments.
- Ensure all documents comply with Singaporean laws.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing internal and external contracts and documentation, advising the company and management on legal rights and obligations.
- Act as a central point of contact for MAS and Singapore regulatory issues.
- Oversee and ensure legal, risk, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor sanctions developments and their impact on the business.
- Lead or participate in legal and risk compliance reviews to ensure adherence to the Group’s policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and conduct regular legal and risk compliance training programs to educate staff on relevant regulatory developments, compliance policies, and procedures.
- Formulate legal, risk, compliance, and governance strategies.
- Conduct diligent research into legal issues and recommend revisions across a range of legal documents and agreements.
- Work closely with stakeholders on non-disclosure agreements, PDPA, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Evaluate legal, risk, and compliance activities, presenting and reporting non-compliance and risk issues to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law and called to the Singapore Bar.
- Strong knowledge of Singaporean law and regulations, particularly in financial services.
- 5 years and above relevant experience within a similar industry.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and risk management solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
