Job Description

The Data Product Team in NUS IT serves as the focal point between the business and technical teams. The team oversees, drives, and manages the development of data products such as data lakehouse, operational data store, MDM hub, and their underlying technologies, with plans for additional future data products.

As a Data Product Manager, you will be responsible for building partnerships and working closely with stakeholders to define the data product strategy and roadmap, ensuring the right prioritization and delivery of product features that meet business needs. You will also be responsible for managing the development of data products throughout their lifecycle, including contract management with third-party vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive strong partnership with stakeholders to shape the data product strategy, roadmaps, requirements, and solutions.
  • Drive the data product lifecycle from ideation to discontinuation, ensuring high standards of quality and performance through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Responsible for project management, including requirement analysis, participation in solution design, planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with data technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data platforms and technologies that meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with the data governance team to develop and implement strategies that enhance data quality, protection, transparency, and accessibility.
  • Manage procurement, including framework agreements. This involves preparing and publishing tender specifications, evaluating, and recommending potential solutions and vendors, and overseeing contract management.
  • Manage vendors to ensure the successful delivery of products and/or services in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics or equivalent.
  • Certified in PMP, CITPM or equivalent.
  • At least 12 years within IT industry, inclusive of 5 years’ experience in product management using agile framework.
  • Proven experience in managing data product lifecycle, preferably data lakes or data warehouses in Azure cloud.
  • Proven experience in partnering with senior stakeholders and data scientist teams to build data products.
  • Strong knowledge in data and analytics technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong technical background to coordinate with technical teams to solve complex requirements and issues.
  • Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information thoroughly and quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders from all levels.
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive, creative, fast learner and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a good team player, meticulous, highly organized and positive attitude.
