Engineering Manager [EPC | Jurong Island, West Region]
Responsibilities:
Primary
· Key responsibilities for this role include being involved in various project stages which include basic engineering design and detailed design, site and technology assessment, technical consultation.
· Is also tasked to manage the budget, schedules and quality. To oversee the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment, and the quality of construction, staff productivity, and safety.
· The candidate will lead and collaborate with the design and engineering team to deliver on key responsibilities in an assignment under tight deadlines.
Secondary
· Engineering projects management through structured planning, ensuring set timelines, budgets and resource allocation for successful execution.
· Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables.
· Act as the primary point of contact with clients in addressing and resolving issues and managing expectations.
· To lead engineering team and engineers assigned, adhering to quality standards, codes and project requirements.
· Coordination and engagements with vendors and OEMs to specify technical specifications and data sheets.
· To ensure that works are carried out according to specifications, drawings without compromising on quality and safety.
· Provide technical expertise in designs, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes and regulations.
· Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.
· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to optimize solutions and address technical challenges.
· Preparation of Technical specifications and Package P&IDs for all the mechanical equipment.
· Prepare and review/check of the design Interfaces with other disciplines and Packages.
· Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for the designs.
· Review of vendor offers, preparation of technical evaluation report, technical portion of the purchase order.
· Review and Input drawing/document list for package, design review and validation records, Bill of quantities, Vendor drawing review.
· Provide technical support and guidance to engineering and project team.
· Proactive in continuous improvement for engineering processes.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
· At least 15years of experience in the field of plant engineering design and construction experience in petrochemical, chemical and industrial plants. Consistent career experience in the engineering department.
· Experience in the design of engineering systems and equipment including boilers, turbines, compressors, pumps, and heat exchangers.
· Track record of successfully delivering chemical & industrial projects on time and within budget.
· Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software tools such as Smartplant 3D, Caesar II or similar plant engineering tool and AutoCAD.
· Strong knowledge of industrial plant design principles, process and operation philosophy
· Well-verse with industry standards and best practices for design, maintenance, and reliability.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and with the Clients and Stakeholders.
