Job Description
- Support the development of a material and suppliers strategy :
▪ Conduct market analysis
▪ Support the strategy definition with crossfunctional partners
▪ Support the documentation and implementation of the supplier strategy in BA. - Initiate the New Supplier Introduction Process
- Define the annual supplier list for own material groups which are reflected in the Category strategic paper based on Continental requirements
- Actively influence the sourcing process during development phase through:
▪ Supplier selection
▪ Negotiation of prices and closure of commercial conditions and contracts.
▪ Preparing Sourcing decision sheet and decision.
▪ Perform annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive in case of escalation - Negotiate changes with suppliers
- Apply negotiation concepts (like Advanced negotiation concept) to actively support & execute bundling within the respective Category
- Ensure fulfillment of all necessary requirements by negotiating and concluding legally binding contracts with the respective suppliers
- Support re-design in cost reduction programs
- Drive improvement programs with suppliers
- Support new supplier development and maintain the supplier base in line with the strategy and technology roadmap of BA.
- Support supplier process development with focus on technology and methology including sub-supplier management in co-work with internal stakeholder.
- Support gap analysis at supplier and initiating respective action plan. Drives management escalation at supplier if necessary.
- Coaches and challenging the supplier processes to accelarate and ensure automotive processes readiness with on-site presence.
- Support releases of suppliers together with SQM via VDA 6.3.process audit.
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics/Technical studies/Engineering or relevant professional experience
- 5 years of relevant experiences in Purchasing or Supplier Development.
- Capability to negotiate and operate with different cultures
- Experience in working with international teams on purchasing, quality, operations, engineering and supply chain topics.
- Understanding for different foreign cultures (NAFTA, Asia, several European cultures)
