As a Google Cloud Architect, you will collaborate directly with our strategic customers on critical application development and modernization projects, helping them transform their businesses. You will provide consulting, program management, and technical expertise while working with client executives and key technical leaders to drive the adoption of modern application patterns and paradigms via Google Cloud Platform.
You will also engage closely with our key partners servicing top accounts to manage programs, deliver consulting services, and offer technical guidance and best practice expertise.
Your broad skill set includes software engineering, architecture design, distributed systems, container technologies, and deployment strategies. Success in this role requires navigating ambiguity, extensive experience with cloud technologies, technical depth, and the ability to work effectively with client executives. Excellent communication and project management skills are essential. The role involves approximately 30% travel for client engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customer development leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful modern cloud applications, becoming a trusted advisor throughout the engagement.
- Work with internal specialists, product, and engineering teams to package approaches, best practices, and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies, and published assets.
- Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks/issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.
- Advocate for customer needs to overcome adoption blockers and drive new feature development based on field experience.
- Propose solution architectures and manage the deployment of cloud-native application development solutions according to complex customer requirements and implementation best practices.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in project management and/or delivering technical solutions.
- Advanced understanding of the software supply chain in an enterprise environment, including software engineering, testing, CI/CD, and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in containerized environments.
- Experience with highly available, scalable applications and distributed systems.
- 7 years of experience demonstrating technical client service.
- Proficiency in software languages (Java, Go, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and experience building/architecting DevOps pipelines, with familiarity with associated tools.
- Experience with detailed network, security, and system design in the deployment of virtual machines and containerized applications.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Experience with Microservices architecture (backend) and front-end exposure.
- Full Stack development exposure.
- Database skills from a developer perspective.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, Kubernetes networking, Istio service mesh).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and patterns.
- Understanding of cloud-native design patterns, including those specific to application refactoring and modernization.
- Expertise in API management, including API gateways, design, security, and monitoring.
