Summary
UCT is seeking a seasoned Senior / Manager Materials to join our team in Singapore. This seasoned Materials leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a team of Materials professionals.
Besides daily operations, this Senior Manager will be the main point of contact with key clients for regular/ daily updates on material orders. He/She will work closely with our Manufacturing, Engineering, Account Operations & Supply Chain teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage a team of materials procurement professionals, providing leadership and guidance to ensure successful procurement of high-quality materials
· Develop and implement procurement strategies for materials used in semiconductor products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of materials within budget
· Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring strong partnerships and reliable supply chains
· Work with internal stakeholders to identify materials requirements and ensure procurement processes are aligned with product development timelines
· Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities in the materials procurement process
· Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on technical issues and career development
· To lead a team of Buyers to achieve the key performance – 100% of supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) performance and manage the Inventory goals and target.
· Ensure the compliance of purchase data such as LT, AVL & SPQ/MOQ and cost setting as required in the system.
· Perform, supervise and evaluate all purchasing activities to ensure no disruption of supply to production plan and loading.
· Manage/improve the escalation process to resolve material shortages in timely manner.
· They will also conduct first level negotiations for pricing variance or execute material procurement from alternate source when necessary and supplier performance management.
· Continuously reviewing in purchasing processes to improve Buyers’ key performance in place, pull, push and cancellation metrics.
· Establish and maintain good rapport with suppliers to ensure the effectiveness in delivery
· Support and responsiveness.
· Risk Assessment of material positioning for important / critical parts by customer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing a team of procurement professionals
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and opportunities in the procurement process
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
· Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred, with a solid understanding of the materials requirements and challenges associated with semiconductor product development
Educational/Certification Requirement:
· Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Experience Requirement:
· Minimum of 8 to 10years of experience in materials procurement or a related field, with a track record of successful procurement and negotiation of contracts with suppliers
