Overview
This position involves overseeing the end-to-end process of sourcing, procuring, and managing telecommunications services and equipment to support the organization's operational needs effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of telecom technologies, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
Main Responsibilities
1. Sourcing and Procurement: Manage the procurement process for telecommunications services and equipment within a specific region. This includes identifying vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
2. Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with telecom vendors, evaluate their performance, and hold them accountable for service levels and contractual obligations.
3. Cost Optimization: Develop strategies to optimize telecom costs while ensuring service quality and reliability. This may involve conducting cost analysis, renegotiating contracts, and exploring new cost-saving opportunities.
4. Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in the telecom industry to make informed decisions and recommendations.
5. Regional Focus: Understand the specific telecom needs and challenges within the region and tailor sourcing strategies to meet those requirements.
6. Contract Management: Monitor contract compliance, renewals, and amendments to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with telecom sourcing, such as service interruptions, data security breaches, or vendor reliability issues.
8. Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze telecom spend, vendor performance metrics, and service levels to make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as IT teams, finance, and business units, to align telecom sourcing strategies with overall business goals.
Requirements
Education
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience
1. 1-3 years of experience in telecom sourcing, procurement, or vendor management roles.
2. Experience in negotiating contracts and service level agreements with telecom service providers.
3. Experience in evaluating vendor proposals and selecting telecom vendors based on performance, cost, and quality criteria.
4. Knowledge of telecom billing processes and cost management strategies.
