Enrolled Nurse/Staff Nurse

Clinical Duties

1. Performs professional nursing care to the patients in the outpatient clinic providing O&G and IVF services.
2. Trains patients in medication mixing and injection administration to boost their confidence for IVF cases.
3. Provide compassionate patient care when educating patients about medications, lab tests, treatment protocols, and procedures.
4. Performs routine tests on selected group of patients, e.g., blood pressure, height and weight measurement, and urine labstix test and reports abnormalities appropriately.
5. Performs professional nursing care to the patients admitted in the Obstetrics and Gynecology unit, when required by the specialist.
6. Assists in various procedures related to delivery, postpartum, Caesarean-section, gynaecological surgeries etc. when required.
7. Assists specialist with the discharge process for inpatient cases. Generates the discharge summary and letter of certification for the office administrator.
8. Administers prescribed medications such as Oral and record changes and response of the patient.
9. Assists to give patient intramuscular injection when ordered by the specialist.
10. Responsible for preparing and dispense medicine to patients based on the prescription ordered by specialist for both in-patient and out-patient cases.
11. Assists to purchase and collect non-standard medicine from the hospital pharmacy when assigned by the specialists.
12. Informs patient of normal lab test results and sends a copy via email to patient when required by the specialist. Ensure proper documentation is entered in Plato.
13. Sterilizing and preparing the procedural instruments before and after use. To monitor the expiry date of the instruments and discard appropriately.
14. Maintains skill and knowledge in using various medical devices such as Electronic fetal monitors, defibrillators, Suction pumps and other Gynae unit instruments.

Other duties

Ensures all referrals by insurance companies are properly registered in Plato and submitted to the relevant insurer body for claim on the same day.

1. Performs stock count for medicine and vaccination ordered by the specialist and updates the details in Plato promptly.
2. Performs stock count for consumable/medical device ordered by the specialist and updates the details in Plato promptly.
3. Maintains stock and top up consumables in the consultation room.
4. Maintains proper retrieval and filing of hard copy casenotes.
5. Responsible for holding the company mobile phone and answer any queries from the patient promptly.
6. Practices good housekeeping habits and maintains tidiness particularly the front counter and clinic pharmacy.
