The position is responsible for Marketing/Trading (including purchase and sale) of Corn, Barley, Sorghum, and related risk management for the allocated product group. The incumbent will be part of a team with responsibility for maintaining close contact with customers in addition to arbitraging contracts, markets and freight advantages. The position also communicates market information, opportunity and activity within the group.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading strategies for corn, barley, and sorghum with a focus on China and Asian domestic markets.
- Develop and execute on trading strategies for both international and local trade.
- Monitor market trends, analyze supply and demand dynamics, and identify trading opportunities.
- Support the Asian offices Network and increase domestic distribution with a focus on China.
- Oversee market and freight risk and execution to ensure the timely and efficient execution of contracts
- Manage credit terms and risk in line with the Groups’ agreed limits, controls and procedures
- Liaising with origins and destination ADM offices to ensure an efficient least-cost supply chain as well as contractual contract execution
- Identifying and executing arbitrage opportunities that add value to the Group
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, tariffs, and trade policies affecting agricultural commodities.
- Compiling and distributing accurate market information and communicating this with other members of the Group and the wider ADM divisions.
Your Profile
- Bachelor Degree with business/economic/trading background preferred
- Minimum 3 years commercial experience, including trading and logistics in agricultural commodities
- Proven experience as a Trader or Sales Manager in the agricultural commodities industry, specifically in corn, barley, and sorghum.
- Strong network and established relationships with suppliers, buyers, and industry stakeholders, particularly in China and through Asia.
- Deep understanding of market fundamentals, trading strategies, and risk management principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in market analysis and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with foreign counterparts is a plus
