About the Role

Our Forensic and Litigation Consulting team in Singapore are involved in complex, global and high-profile litigation, arbitration and investigations combining end-to-end risk advisory, investigative and disputes expertise to deliver holistic solutions for our clients.

Specifically, the Risk and Investigations (R&I) team conducts research and investigations to uncover actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and make informed investment decisions to maximize opportunities.

Our experts conduct independent investigations to help clients resolve a variety of issues, including:

  • Fraud investigations
  • Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments
  • Whistleblower allegations
  • Litigation and compliance support
  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions
  • Business intelligence
  • Assets searches
  • Vendor screening & assessment programmes
  • Intellectual property theft and brand protection
  • Political risk assessments

What You’ll Do:

As an Associate or a Consultant, you will contribute to client matters by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time with regular supervision. You will typically undertake tasks such as researches, analyzing accounting and financial data, performing calculations, and documenting your work.

You will communicate effectively with other team members, and to take an interest in how your work fits into the overall project plan. You will need to develop a strong knowledge of the legal process, especially with regard to litigation, fraud and compliance issues.

  • Reconstruct accounting records from incomplete information.
  • Analyse and interpret accounting records and assess the reliability of accounting evidence.
  • Review financial statements for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis and financial and discounted cash flow modelling.
  • Undertake company and industry research and analysis.
  • Document assumptions, methodology and information sources.
  • Provision of advice on how to mitigate risk.
  • Participate in investigative interviews and client meetings.
  • Assist with preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines. Enrolment in (or intention to pursue) an internationally recognised professional qualification in accounting.
  • Possess professional accounting experience, including experience in financial investigations, litigation support and expert witness services
  • For Associate Level: at least 1-2 years of relevant experience; For Consultant level: at least 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in other ASEAN languages will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and resourceful individual, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent logical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and high level of professionalism.
  • Regional/Global travel to client office(s) and/or FTI regional office(s) as needed
  • Able to attend early/late hours’ regional/global meetings as needed
