About the role
McConnell Dowell is seeking a Design Engineer in Singapore to support civil structural work for civil and marine projects.
Key responsibilities of the role include;
- Coordinate with external engineering consultants for projects in accordance with Design Management Procedures to solve various design/construction issues.
- Develop shop drawings for permanent works based on consultants' designs and drawings. Experience in coordination with construction teams to prepare concrete body plans.
- Carry out design checks in accordance with the project's appropriate requirements when needed.
- Ensure the use of the latest documents/drawings. Track submission drawings, DAR submissions, and design changes.
- Identify safety and environmental hazards that may arise during the fabrication, installation, and use of temporary works.
- Provide feedback to the project personnel on construction details. Provide drawing and technical documentation as required.
- Direct and supervise CAD draftspersons as required in the performance of these roles and responsibilities.
- Provides all activities in such a manner to ensure a safe working environment.
- Any other duties as may be required by the Company.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 5 years of design engineering experience in civil structural works.
- Demonstrated capability in developing innovative concepts for solving technical, complex issues.
- Competent understanding of Singapore and International codes and standards.
- Relevant experience in Authorities submission.
- Competent in the use of MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of engineering software, e.g., Staad Pro, Plaxis.
- Able to work on alternate Saturdays and on-site at Changi East.
