Purpose and Scope
- We are looking for a highly motivated, driven and experienced individual to join our team to provide legal and compliance advisory to the business units located in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Partner business stakeholder and oversee delivery of legal and compliance services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities
- Provide legal support and advice to senior management and all internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters
- Draft, review and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of commercial agreements common within the energy and utilities industry such as utilities services agreements, power purchase agreements, engineering procurement & construction agreements and, natural gas agreements (for both piped gas and LNG)
- Prior experience in advising on natural gas related contracts, project financing and/or mergers & acquisitions would be an added advantage
- Review and provide recommendations on the legal aspects and considerations for resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
- Implement and manage Group company policies, procedures and standards related to legal and compliance matters
- Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and proactively handle regulatory developments and compliance updates
- Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal and compliance inquiries in all operational aspects
- Identify and consult on legal and compliance risks in connection with the company’s developments
- Lead or support other projects and tasks as may be required from time to time
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Possess a Law degree with at least 8-12 years’ post qualification legal experience
- Experience working in the energy industry, especially for renewable energy e.g. solar and natural gas would be preferred to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Indonesia or Philippines law is an added advantage
- Excellent in the knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
- Admitted to the roll of solicitors of in the UK or the Singapore Bar
