The successful candidate will be part of Limitless’ Community Resource, Engagement & Support Team (CREST), working on giving emotional support to youths and their caregivers, increasing awareness of mental health conditions, connecting youths to appropriate medical and social services, facilitating activity-based groupwork and managing outreach events.
The incumbent will be working with youths who may have mental health conditions, or are in mental distress. And duties may include:
- Intake and Referral
- Mental Health Assessments
- Providing therapeutic & psychosocial support to clients
- Work with stakeholders in implementing youth programmes
- Be part of the team that develops, plans and implements mental health groupwork to meet the needs of the population
- Manage outreach efforts including on-site booths and talks
- Provide administrative support for workshops including booking, scheduling and billing
- Handle enquiries from members of public who request for service
- Conduct registration, mental health screening of clients and provide appropriate information and referral services
- Provide case management from working with stakeholders, to supporting caregivers
- Maintain accurate case records, data and other necessary documentation
- Liaise with community partners
- Prepare periodic reports
- Manage volunteers
- Plan, develop and implement an annual Peer Support conference
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess at least a Bachelors or graduate diploma in Social Work. Applicants with a Masters in Counselling are also welcome to apply
- Relevant therapeutic experience is preferred, but fresh graduates who have completed either 500hrs of direct practice or 100 direct contact counselling hours are welcome to apply
- Preferably trained or having experience with crisis management and suicide assessment
- Able to work with young people struggling with mental health issues
Competencies Required:
- Passion to work with youths
- Ability to facilitate workshops, or good public speaking skills
- Knowledge and experience in the mental health sector
- Experience in event planning will be an advantage
- Confident and experienced in leading groupwork programmes
- Good command of written and spoken English, and conversant in a second language
- Motivated and willing to learn
