Your Challenge
As a member of the Software Quality Control team, you develop and execute test plans to identify software problems on physical machines and in simulated setups. You are the testing point of contact in Singapore and will work closely together with on-site engineers and developers as well as your software quality control colleagues globally.
The job involves travel to customers and site visits. Your expertise in software testing facilitates on-site problem identification, defect analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
The regional software quality control engineer, responsible for outgoing software quality in the South East Asia (SEA) region, will have following responsibilities in the Software Quality Control team:
- You develop software test plans according to product specification, customer use cases and end user expectations.
- As experienced test engineer you complete test plans on physical machines and in simulated setups and distribute the tested software to the customer support team with clear release documentation and application notes.
- You document test results and defects experienced during tests.
- You diagnose bugs and closely monitor them from discovery to resolution, by engaging with the engineering and customer support teams.
- In our Singapore factory, you act as a go-to person for the local developers, field support engineers as well as your colleagues around the globe. Joint test execution and problem analysis will be key in this role.
- Occasionally you perform customer visits in the SEA region to support problem solving on site.
- You partner with other engineers to stay informed of new technologies being introduced to ensure system components are designed for testability.
Qualifications
- You have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 4-year experience in product-based software testing
- Demonstrated understanding of creating effective test procedures and test cases
- Demonstrated experience in executing test procedures and validating against customer requirements
- Experience in test automation and test frameworks is a plus
- Understanding of existing quality control methodologies to apply in your day-to-day job
- Organized, detail oriented, very responsive
