Purpose and Scope:
The Motor Service Technician is tasked with the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of electric motors, ensuring they are restored to optimal performance levels while adhering to high standards of quality and safety.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Disassembly and Inspection: Carefully dismantle electric motors to assess components for wear, damage, and defects.
- Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace defective parts such as bearings, windings, and other motor components. Perform AC slip ring rotor rewinding and AC high voltage stator rewinding (Form coil).
- Reassembly: Reassemble motors with precision, ensuring all components are properly aligned and secured.
- Testing: Conduct tests to verify motor performance and confirm that repairs meet specified standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of overhaul activities, including inspection results, repairs performed, and test outcomes. Ensure timely submission of service reports.
- Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance tasks to keep motors in optimal working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Tool Management: Use and maintain tools and equipment required for motor overhauls properly.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in motor overhaul techniques.
Qualifications:
- Education: ITE/diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields; technical or vocational training in electrical or mechanical areas preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in electric motor maintenance, overhaul, and repair. Experience in rewinding AC/DC motors is required.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in motor overhaul and repair are advantageous.

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electric motor components, operation, and repair techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Careful approach to inspecting, repairing, and reassembling motors to ensure high quality.
