About the role

As we continue to grow, Grasshopper seeks a Compliance Analyst to join our team to play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This role involves close collaboration with trading teams, developers, risk management and operations to maintain and enhance our compliance frameworks while supporting Grasshopper Asset Management, an entity regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute AML duties, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with trading teams, developers, risk, and operations functions to assess and address compliance needs.
  • Manage day-to-day compliance activities including requests, education, communication, issue identification, reporting, and interactions with brokers, exchanges, and regulators.
  • Contribute actively to compliance projects.
  • Analyse algorithmic trades, order and trade behaviour to identify potential issues and present effective resolutions.
  • Maintain a well-organized compliance policies, procedures, and records database.
  • Provide guidance on exceptional trade matters, settlement discrepancies, customer inquiries, due diligence questionnaires, and interpretation of rulebooks and compliance requisites.
  • Perform additional compliance-related tasks as delegated.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in compliance, preferably in AML, surveillance/monitoring in financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, conduct training, and explain complex matters to management and trading teams.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders, including traders, technical teams, and external parties.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Approachable and responsive in addressing business inquiries promptly.
  • Familiarity with database query languages and/or programming (e.g., SQL, Python) is advantageous, though not mandatory.
