Position Summary:
As a Release Manager in Platform Technology, you will oversee our client's software releases from development to production, ensuring high-quality and risk-free deliveries. Additionally, you will double hat as Incident Manager (IM) during contingency situations. This role involves collaborating with development teams, QA, and operations to plan, coordinate, and manage releases across various environments, including SIT, UAT, and Production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement release management strategies, processes, and procedures.
- Oversee release scheduling, resource management, and stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate with development teams to gather release requirements and manage dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with BCS software release policies and role segregation standards.
- Partner with QA to ensure comprehensive testing and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with operations and external teams for seamless deployment and rollback plans.
- Identify and address release risks, issues, and conflicts.
- Communicate release plans and updates to stakeholders effectively.
- Adhere to organizational policies and industry standards.
- Continuously enhance release management processes and practices.
- Prepare and present release reports and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
- Integrate release management with project plans in collaboration with project managers.
- Promote a culture of resilience and continuous improvement with a focus on risk management.
- Analyze trends and track Release Management KPIs.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews for failed changes or rollbacks and incident-related changes.
- Serve as Incident Manager during contingency scenarios, managing incidents and ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in release management within large organizations.
- Experience in regulated financial institutions is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of software development life cycles (SDLCs) and release management practices.
- Proficiency with release management tools and DevSecOps pipelines (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow, AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub, BitBucket).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing stakeholder relationships.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently.
- ITIL 4 certification is required.
