ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing suitability of clients referred for art therapy, and design, implement, manage and evaluate individualized care plans to meet his/her therapeutic needs.
- Identifying and prioritizing therapeutic goals in collaboration with the client/family/caregiver and multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness in developing the art therapy programme and meeting the needs of the client.
- Facilitating individual and group interventions for clients and caregivers by employing clinically safe and evidence-based practice.
- Completing case notes and other documentation, following professional and organisational guidelines.
- Attending multidisciplinary meetings and engage in sharing of cases.
- Upholding standards of best practice by staying up to date and complying with relevant legislation, organisation procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct.
- Ensuring a culturally informed practice in working with individuals and groups.
- Adhering to the health and safety policies of the organisation.
- Ensuring all artworks are dated, labeled or titled, and kept secured and confidential in an organised manner.
- Maintaining a critical awareness, curiosity and desire to learn about new developments in the field.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision to facilitate in-depth reflection, understanding and ethical issues in clinical work.
- Engage in continual learning by participating in relevant on-site and off-site trainings and courses.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree / Post graduate certificate in Art Therapy from local or overseas educational institutions.
- Trained/qualified professionals who have completed a two-year postgraduate degree in art therapy from local or overseas educational institutions.
- Registration with the professional body for art therapists such as the Australian and New Zealand Arts Therapy Association (ANZATA) or active participation in the Art Therapists’ Association Singapore (ATAS).
- Relevant knowledge and experience in working with older adults of various circumstances.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
