Job Summary
The Product Owner (PO) is the accountable person to ensure that the bank continues to deliver superior service to our clients by building new capabilities and maintaining existing ones along with all other squad members. The PO sets the vision for the squad and works with clients, business users, risk & compliance colleagues to define what’s needed in order to meet the vision.
Strategy
· Maximize the business value of the product or service by ensuring we “deliver the right thing at the right time”
· Accountable for the execution of build and maintain activities for their product or services throughout the lifecycle.
· Ensure alignment with strategic outcomes and scorecard priorities.
· Ensure the delivery of the "right thing at the right time," contributing to the Business plan and scorecard outcomes.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to craft the vision and concept development of a product.
· Empowered decision-makers accountable for maximizing the business value of their product or product suites.
· Develop and maintain the roadmap and Squad backlog with Hive Lead/Chief POs, teams, and key stakeholders or SME's i.e., country / region / product or client and technical specialists.
· Build strong acceptance criteria for new deliveries that take into account business processes and variations, data quality, system speed and UX.
· Ensure data-driven prioritization in alignment with strategic outcomes and scorecard.
· Accountable to work with technical counterparts to mitigate technical debt and balance risk, and regulatory items with new features, functionality, or changes to keep the cost of change low.
· Responsible to work in partnership with technology to ensure a balance of functional and non-functional requirements are represented in the backlog and that there is an approach to mitigate or avoid technical debt.
· Ensures the Product Strategy and Roadmap is transparent, visible, understood by the Delivery Squads and is regularly reviewed with the delivery Squad.
· Develop and maintain the roadmap and backlog of the Squad with CPO (Products/Services) and Hive Tech Lead using relevant data points to determine the appropriate roadmap milestones. Regularly review and refine it based on relevant data.
· Responsible for collaborating on technology roadmap and solution with the Hive Tech Lead, to drive optimum outcomes.
· Accountable to regularly review the Squad performance metrics (both in sprint delivery and the performance after go-live) on a regular basis and to use these insights to execute continuous improvement with the Squad.
· Build a cadence of measuring business outcomes and benefits. Work closely with markets/segments to ensure that the features can provide the intended benefits which are measured and reviewed in key forums.
Key Responsibilities
Business
· Engage with customers, clients, stakeholders, and end users and represent their voice on the product backlog.
· Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the Product Backlog is created and maintained according to business value/ROI.
· Facilitate prioritization discussions with all relevant stakeholders including local, regional, country representatives.
· Optimize value delivery through Continuous Improvement through relevant data and frequent feedback from stakeholders, SMEs, and customers.
· Engage in continuous backlog management, writing user stories with clear narratives and acceptance criteria.
· Regularly prioritize and refine backlog items using data points through collaboration with the technical delivery SMEs.
· Use lifecycle tools like ADO and Confluence, to plan, track, and manage backlog items.
· Ensure the Product Backlog is transparent, visible, and understood.
· Potentially support multiple teams if their backlog items come from the same Product Backlog.
Processes
· Accountable to ensure the backlog is maintained regularly and backlog user stories are clearly articulated through engagement in continuous backlog management, writing user stories., conducting user story walk-throughs with the delivery Squad and writing clear narratives and acceptance criteria.
· Accountable to sign off on the delivery of the backlog items (user stories) and ensure the acceptance criteria has been met i.e., through Squad showcases and / or functional walkthroughs of the product / service in use (live).
· Accountable to ensure backlog is regularly refined, prioritised and worked on with the Squad members.
· Accountable to ensure sign off of all user stories.
· Accountable to be present at Squad showcases / demonstrations to support user story sign off and releases.
· Must be present at team meetings including but not limited to backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand up, showcase, retrospectives.
· Adopt and embed the Change Delivery Standards throughout the lifecycle of the product/service.
· Adhere to and execute the relevant delivery processes outlined in the Group Enterprise Software Delivery Lifecycle guidelines (eSDLC)
· Continuously review and consider ways to reduce / eliminate manual processes.
· Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
· Participate in the quarterly planning for the Hive and provide steer along with Hive Tech Lead.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 15+ years of experience in wealth management or private banking in similar role.
- Sound knowledge of Wealth Management products, processes and systems.
- Expertise in implementing large scale programs in wealth management as business lead, with deep knowledge of end to end process lifecycle
- Strong understanding of WM advisory frameworks, key risks, WM governance related matters.
- Strong ability to deal with organisational complexity and stakeholder management at multiple levels spanning group, regions and country.
- Strong record of execution abilities and taking ownership for deliverables.
