Position Overview: The Logistics Specialist will oversee and manage the efficient movement of goods, both inbound and outbound, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, compliance with quality standards, and timely execution of logistics operations. This role demands strong organizational skills, proficiency in ERP systems, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maintain optimal inventory accuracy and support overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Logistics:
- Consignment: Accurately receive consignments against delivery orders, verifying the correctness of part numbers, descriptions, and quantities.
- Inspection and Verification: Unpack and meticulously inspect delivered items, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards. Review accompanying certificates and documentation.
- Damage Control: Conduct thorough visual inspections for transit damage, promptly reporting any discrepancies or quality issues to the Quality Team.
- Inventory: Execute Goods Receipt transactions within the Epicor ERP system, ensuring precise data entry and record-keeping.
- Labelling and Storage: Generate and apply appropriate labels to parts before systematically storing them in designated bin locations. Maintain a well-organized inventory system for easy retrieval and traceability.
Outbound Logistics and Shipping:
- Shipment Coordination: Prepare and schedule shipments in alignment with delivery timelines, ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders focusing on priority and accuracy, adhering to company standards and customer requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all packing and shipping processes comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Documentation: Issue and manage shipping documents efficiently, updating the shipping database in accordance with customer-specific instructions.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive records to ensure easy retrieval and complete traceability throughout the shipping process.
Additional Duties:
- Quality Compliance: Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) procedures in all operational tasks, ensuring that all activities meet or exceed company standards.
- Support Functions: Assist the Management Team with ad hoc requests and projects as needed.
- Inventory Audits: Participate in regular stock checks, collaborating with the Quality Team to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Workplace Safety: Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: Minimum qualification of Nitec or equivalent. Candidates with relevant experience or higher qualifications are preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in logistics, particularly in inbound, outbound, inventory management, and shipping, is advantageous.
Key Competencies:
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic IT skills, including MS Excel and Word. Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Epicor) is a significant advantage.
