Job Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
· Oversee the organisation's strategic priorities in shipping, chartering, and fleet management to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
· Set clear directions, goals, and targets for the organisation, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies
· Review and refine organisational strategies and targets for endorsement, ensuring they contribute to the achievement of the company's vision, mission, goals, and objectives
2. Operational Management
· Oversee the organisation's Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ship inspections, audits and dockings to ensure optimal fleet performance and safety
· Ensure that all vessels are maintained to the highest standards, with a focus on safety, reliability and regulatory compliance
3. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
· Build a culture of innovation within the organisation, encouraging continuous improvement across all departments
· Drive the organisation's ship efficiency management, identifying opportunities for operational enhancements and cost savings
4. Business Development
· Evaluate recommendations for potential business opportunities, partnerships, and expansions that align with the company’s growth strategy.
· Foster relationships with key stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory authorities to support business development and strategic initiatives.
5. Financial Oversight
· Evaluate the organisation's financial performance, ensuring that it meets or exceeds the financial goals set by the board
· Oversee budget allocation and financial planning to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency
6. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

7. Crew Management
· Oversee crew management policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and best practices

· Promote engagement strategies to improve crew performance, satisfaction, and retention
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in the maritime industry, including roles in shipping, fleet management, chartering, or marine operations
- Deep understanding of the maritime industry, including shipping operations, vessel management, maritime regulations, and industry best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, industry partners, and customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
