Our client, a leading player in the global grain trading industry, is seeking a motivated and experienced Grain Trader/Assistant Manager for their dry bulk division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the growing demand for food in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mission:
The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving global grain trading operations, focusing on securing emerging food demand across Asia-Pacific markets. They will market grain to customers by leveraging cash, futures, and ocean freight trading, while managing market, credit, and performance risks to ensure sustainable business growth. The role also involves exploring investment opportunities in grain logistics and processing within Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships within Southeast Asia to ensure a reliable grain supply network and generate profits through effective trading strategies.
- Work closely with Mitsui's international network of grain exporters to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities, contributing to the company's global value enhancement.
- Lead the execution of trading operations, including cash and futures trades, and manage logistics for bulk cargoes and containers to optimize price competitiveness.
- Implement risk management strategies and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Act as the primary contact for contract execution, negotiating and settling within prescribed guidelines.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 3 – 5 years in business, with a preference for experience in bulk cargo and/or commodity trade.
- Willingness to travel 20% -30% in a month
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Resourceful and analytical with a keen attention to detail.
