This role will be responsible for organizing and conducting community outreach activities to increase dementia awareness among schools and youths. He/she will lead a project which aims to promote youth engagement, youth voluntarism and youth leadership in dementia.
Job Responsibilities
- Proactively engage with schools, IHLs, Youth-led organisations, ground-up youth initiatives and youth related ministries (e.g. MCCY, NYC, MOE, etc) to conduct ground-sensing research on the interest and preferences of youths on dementia-related issues.
- Lead the development of multi-modal resources catered to the needs of various ages including (but not limited to) interactive toolkit, animated presentations, bite-sized videos, facilitator’s guide etc.
- Champion the Youth Leader for Dementia programme and develop a training/curriculum guide for youth leaders.
- Journey with youth volunteers and actively develop youth leaders for dementia.
- Organise youth outreach activities including (but not limited to) awareness talks, learning journeys/experiences, participation in roadshows etc.
- Manage all youth-related enquiries and take the lead to bridge students with internal functions.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in psychology, social work, community development or relevant discipline with min 3yrs experience in a similar role.
- Prior experience working with persons living with dementia and carers.
- Experience working with youths or in youth education settings, facilitating learning programmes is an added advantage.
- Strong programme development skills proficient with project managing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes.
- Confident with public speaking and training with large audiences.
- Ability to work on occasional Saturdays.
- Effective communicator with the ability to communicate with people of various ages.
- Positive self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
