RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the community of Network & Datacenter engineers in Asia Pacific (~15 staffs) in charge of all connectivity/networking solutions used in the region (LAN/WAN, VPN/Internet, datacenter, security…) and related services (admin/monitoring, automation & self-service too etc.).
- Responsible for the quality of production on the Housing and connectivity perimeter.
- Build and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for deploying, managing, and maintaining all services linked to the perimeter.
- Ensure that proposed and existing technical architectures are aligned to group standard and objectives.
- Make sure we have all required policies & procedures covering architecture & security standards are in place.
- Supervise & manage strategic projects for the region (SD-WAN, infrastructure revamping, …)
- Be an escalation point for any major issue in Asia & participate in regional Alertco for GTS
- Manage Operational Risk (Security, Internal/external audits, permanent supervision etc.)
Financials
- Plan and construct the budget needs in agreement with global and regional stakeholders.
- Closely monitor budget consumption in accordance with budget guidelines and expected targets (landing plan)
- Ensure correct cost allocation and meaningful categorization (alignment of financial/GTS reports)
Staff Management
- Manage the regional network staff, ensuring they have objectives, clear roles defined with up-to-date job descriptions, training & personal development plans.
- Ensure succession planning for key roles and provide corporate coaching to direct reports.
- Communicate to the team on a regular basis in terms of regional & global agenda.
- Promote social and environmental objectives, even when not directly related to daily job.
Business, Partners & Stakeholders management
- Implement formal governance with key partners and monitor closely business satisfaction & quality of service.
- Assist business lines in the implementation of their strategic goals in Asia.
- Develop & maintain a strong engagement with Paris global management to guarantee good consistency between global/regional strategies. Contribute to international Network Executive community
- Manage strategic vendors in partnership with regional CTO and global GTS functions, (Cisco, NTT, Equinix, OBS etc.)
- Provide market intelligence (new technologies, industry best practices) and propose disruptive solutions to enable new business opportunities.
PROFILE REQUIRED
Academic Background and Certifications, Experience.
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with a post graduate degree being advantageous
- Extensive experience in delivering IT services and managing teams across multiple location
- Prior experience in delivering datacenter and wide range of network & telecom services (LAN, WAN, Security)
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Autonomous and resourceful
- Handle and settle people conflicts
- Major incident & crisis management
- Experience in establishing strong and long-term relationship with internal partners
- Excellent communication (written and verbal).
- Broad understanding of Infrastructure services, operational risks and management methodologies
