The Staff Nurse is responsible for promoting and supporting mothers to achieve successful breastfeeding.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide consultation, supervision and advice for breastfeeding mothers, including inpatient and outpatient for all breastfeeding issues such as breast engorgement, plugged milk ducts and mastitis
- To assist and teach parents of the newborn baby in parenting skill
- To assist in providing phone counseling to those who seek advice on breastfeeding and childcare
- To assist in maintaining all parentcraft education records for maternity patients
- To conduct workshops such as but not limited to Childbirth Education Course, Parenting Workshop, Confinement Nanny Training and Breastfeeding course.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
- Preferably with Certificate in Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in a maternity setting and/or 2 years of related lactation experience
- Ability to multitask, adapt and react in a fast paced working environment
- 5.5 days work week (rostered to work on weekends & PH)
