Responsibilities

  • To create and develop Guardian store development programme. You will drive store design builds and effectively communicate and work closely with the team to develop, coordinate, and implement the design of stores from concept design to documentation, construction and handover, in accordance with Brand Standards.
  • To own all intended scope of work, aligns with the budget, ensure licensing and code requirements are met and aligned to the design intent and Brand standards, and are reflected in drawings.
  • Have a flair in design, be able to utilize design skills to effectively communicate concepts to develop store designs in accordance with Brand Standards.
  • Be able to work independently with a high level of integrity. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing project activities, workflow, and other day to day activities, to ensure goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget, and other performance targets.
  • Report directly to and support the Head of Store Design on day-to-day operations.
  • Be results oriented and passionate to deliver projects successfully. To deliver designs that are on budget and on time.
  • Produce measured site surveys, and accurately draw and check the base plan, to develop an appropriate design for each site.
  • Decide on appropriate furniture, fixtures, finishes and equipment that are appropriate for each site
  • Draw custom construction details where necessary.
  • Effectively communicate, collaborate and drive external consultants to deliver the project.
  • Actively contribute in design reviews with senior management.
  • Value support and cultivate cooperation amongst Team members.
  • Drive and initiate cross functional team reviews and safeguard the Brand standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Health & Beauty Design
  • Design experience in Singapore, other international markets, Asia a plus
  • Professional qualification in Architecture, Interior Design and/or a related field of study
  • Working knowledge of government submissions, building and health codes and compliance issues
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. English is a must.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Excellent eye for detail, proactive team player and able to make sound decisions based on good design judgement.
  • Current knowledge of industry trends in retail store design including fixtures, furniture and finishes
  • Excellent working knowledge of colour, materiality, and sound design principles
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup (or any other 3D visualization software), Photoshop and Powerpoint for presentations.
