1.Role Purpose
Mechanical Superintendent reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for coordinating with yard construction team, resolving any field-related issues, and ensuring that all mechanical work is executed efficiently and in compliance with project specifications and industry regulations. This includes ensuring the adherence to project schedules, overseeing engineering processes, managing material control, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
2. Duties & Responsibilities
1) Project Oversight and Management:
- Oversee all mechanical construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with project manager, engineers, and other department Superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.
2) Scheduling and Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction activities.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks in alignment with the project timeline.
3) Technical Supervision:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
- Review and approve engineering documents, specifications, and plans.
4) Material Control:
- Manage the procurement, storage, and allocation of materials required for mechanical construction.
- Ensure material quality and availability to prevent project delays.
5) Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
6) Safety Management:
- Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for the construction team.
7) Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve any technical or logistical issues that arise during construction.
- Collaborate with relevant parties to address and mitigate project risks.
8) Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the mechanical construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
3. JOB REQUIREMENTS
- The degree of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical construction in Process, Chemical, Power Plant Projects.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in high-pressure environments.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and construction practices in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing construction teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and mitigate risks effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes specific to the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Navisworks).
