JOB DESCRIPTION:
Department: CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing)
Reports to: Manager
Functional relationships:
- To contribute to overall AI strategy and development in MES
- To align AI development with P623 in Japan
POSITION PROFILE:
This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing innovative AI solutions with a strong focus on image-related tasks. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop software solutions and in-house core algorithms. This role demands a blend of creativity and technical expertise to tackle challenging problems and contribute to our digital transformation (DX) mission.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Policy, strategy alignment and coordination of PJT by collaborating with Japan HQ or other group company in Japan.
- To initiate periodical meetings with Japan HQ or other group company to solve problems in own Division.
- Design, develop, and implement AI & automation solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Create, train, and optimize AI models for tasks such as image classification, object detection, image segmentation, and image generation.
- Research and develop advanced algorithms for image/video processing and computer vision (e.g., denoising, HDR, super-resolution) for application in AI systems.
- Compare different algorithms and analyze pros and cons, and implement algorithms to deal with real-world data.
- Collaborate with software teams to deploy AI models efficiently on various platforms while ensuring optimal speed and accuracy.
- Stay updated on the latest AI advancements to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Window person to P623 to facilitate effective communication / knowledge transfer.
- Working level proficiency in English language

Ability/Competency required:
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- To have deep & specialized technical knowledge in Li-ion battery and to be able to fully utilize it in actual job for improvement.
- Experience with computer vision, machine learning, and image processing libraries (OpenCV, scikit-image).
- Proficiency in Python and relevant deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Passion for AI technology and relevant engineering experience is a plus.
- To have logical thinking, analytical skill and good engineering sense.
- To have strong mind-set for change and improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, analytical skills, project management skills, and troubleshooting skills.
- To have networking ability with Li-ion battery related functions
- To have business fluent Japanese and English language skills to liaise with Japan factories & R&D departments, and local staff in MES factory.
